Ladies and gentlemen, and variations thereupon
Aside from this lj, I also have a blog elsewhere. I may or may not crosspost entries but I use this mostly as a soapbox for my excessive fannish interests.
End of the universe! Have fun! Bye bye!

awww. I feel kinda bad neglecting posting in this LJ and my other blog. Life has been wonderfully different and busy lately, but that's just my silly excuse. Combine laziness and inability to write freely/uncensored/without editing X times too many and you'd get me XD
But anyway, like I've said, life has been good lately. Hope it continues that way \o/
Or the entry where I blather about Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett books
American Gods by Neil Gaiman - I love Neverwhere, my first full-length Gaiman novel, so I expected this to be an addition to my "highly recommended" list. Instead I found myself surprised and confused as to why I'm partly dragging myself to finish it, but then Laura had this great line describing Shadow and I pretty much went "a ha!". I love the story/premise, and I'm always fascinated with this kind of mythology and world-building, but Shadow is just dull. I don't hate the book, but I would have definitely liked it a lot more if not for Shadow and a few boring bits here and there.
The Colour of Magic by Terry Pratchett - I'm quite fond of off-kilter humor and this one is right up my alley. It's just so whimsical and its particular blend of fantasy and absurdity is absolutely wonderful. I know some people aren't keen on the book's style, but this one is going on my "highly recommended" list, definitely.
I've been trying to write a proper (i.e. non-flaily) post about Merlin and Margaret Atwood's Dancing Girls and Other Stories (and entitle it Of Margaret and magic) but for some unfathomable reason, I just can't. Thus, here are three things that I've been wanting to say about my current TV/fandom love:
( Utter fail from me ahead. Why so awesome everyone? )In conclusion, Merlin has zapped the coherence and impartialness out of me. Just go, watch and enjoy. Really. (Also, it's amazing embarassing how many times I've used the words ridiculous and love in this post)

He's like the night and the storm in the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the centre of time and can see the turn of the universe. And ... he's wonderful.
My first post in 2010. I suppose it's just right.
Goodbye Ten. You were my first, and you will always be, my Doctor.
I am currently reading Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell and while it is incredibly good and amazingly detailed, I just have to stop because right now I'm at the chapter Arabella and it's just.
( Why do I get so verbose when it comes to these things? )When I first heard of The History Boys, I thought that it was basically an English Dead Poets Society – a heartwarming, coming of age drama bogged down by a contrived, clunky scene or two. I suppose that THB does slightly hint at that territory once in a while, but mostly it’s been a surprisingly refreshing comedy that never fails to deliver. Similar settings aside, THB and DPS are so remarkably different that to continue comparing them is a disservice to both. (And by both I really mean THB because it's just lovely, lovely all around XD )
( Ridiculously long review ahead )What the hell?!
gah. Why are the finales always WTF-crack awesome and not awesome awesome? Seriously.
Still, it was fun and awesome, so yeah. Also, it's Tennant's penultimate episode so I'm probably going to bawling my eyes out soon. waaah. I will miss you Ten T_T
